"The Kendallabrum appears again on the
University of Tulsa campus at a time when the University is facing another
period of progress. The first period began when the University, then
Henry Kendall College, was founded in 1894 in Muskogee, I.T. This
period was one of justifying its existence and building a student body.
The second period began in 1907 when the University was moved to Tulsa.
It was a period of re-building, and extended through troublous time to
1920. In 1920 the University expanded its organization and
curriculum, and enjoyed the growth of student body and endowment until
1927. This third period was followed by a period of great physical
growth, which lasted from 1927 to 1931. Buildings, equipment, books
were added to increased faculty and student body. Now, following the
depression years, the University faces a period of internal development in
which, I feel sure, the student body, through the Kendallabrum and other
activities, will join the faculty and administration toward a substantial
