"The school term of 1928-29 has been a monumental year of progress for the University of Tulsa.  Its policies of growth and expansion have become much more than mere policies and have developed into concrete realities.  The dreams of those faculty members, trustees, and friends of the school, who have labored here for this institution and its development came in part to splendid fruition during the past year when a total of three new buildings and a rare geological library was donated to the school." -1929 Kendallabrum

Sports Snapshot
The Hurricane football team had yet another successful season, and the high point was when we beat the Haskell Indians again.  "The long-time foes of Tulsa U...the Haskell Indians, were next accorded a wild and rough reception in the closing game of the year.  Tulsa repeated the win of the year before, taking the Indians' scalp to the tune of 27 to 6." -Kendallabrum.
Other sports at TU were successful as well.  Among those was the lone golf team member Lee Pendergrass, who overcame every obstacle and won the amateur state golf championship.
