Numbers SearchUnique, identifying numbers are often associated with published works that facilitate immediate retrieval of the item from the INNOPAC database. These numbers include:
To find an item in the University Libraries using such a number you must perform a number search. On the INNOPAC Search Screen click on the Numbers button. This will take you to the Numbers Search Screen. Type your number in the box and press the Enter key or click on BEGIN Search. EXAMPLES: Because these are unique numbers, associated with only a single published item, INNOPAC should immediately display the full record for the item if the libraries own it. Be sure to note the location, call number and availability of the item. This information is found in the box in the middle of each record. If the libraries do not own the item, you will see a screen listing similar numbers to the one you typed in with a notation in the middle that says "Your entry ... would be here". This tells you that the item is not available at the University of Tulsa. Remember, however, that both McFarlin Library and the MLIC offer an Interlibrary Loan service that may be able to obtain a copy of report or book from another library. Ask for assistance at the Reference Desk. |
