•The Student Years
Ben Graf Henneke began his relationship with the University of Tulsa as a freshman in 1931.
A recent graduate of Central High School, he was eighteen at the time he
entered TU. As
an undergraduate, his achievements were many, including writing the
Hurricane Fight Song, working in the university publicity office,
writing for the
Collegian, working at and founded the radio station
K.W.G.S.
and the TU chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, acted, directed, and of course,
attended classes.
After what can be called a decorated and extremely well-rounded
undergraduate career, Ben graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English.
After earning his B.A. from TU, Ben went on to earn a Master of Arts
degree in Theatre from the University of Iowa and a Doctorate in Speech from
the University of Illinois.
