Find Information and Materials at McFarlin Library

Journals and Online Sources Locate articles published in magazines, journals and newspapers on the topic you're researching; find out which journals (print and online) the library subscribes to and what issues are available; and get to some credible Internet sites that the librarians at McFarlin recommend if you're looking for quick answers to basic questions.  If you need any assistance in using any of these resources, contact the Reference Desk at 918-631-2880 or by email.
Books, Videos, Music & More The TU Libraries Catalog is the best place to start looking for books, journals, newspapers, sound recordings, videorecordings, rare books, or other items which you may need for your research projects.
E-Books Electronic Books are available from McFarlin's netLibrary collection.  Public domain e-books (i.e. older works) are also available free from several sites.
Government Documents McFarlin Library has been a federal "depository library" since 1929 and a state depository since 1979.  The Documents website provides information about this service as well as a rich collection of links and pointers to quickly locate information from all sorts of federal and state agencies.
Interlibrary Loan The Interlibrary Loan Department is responsible for borrowing materials from other libraries which students and faculty need to complete their research, but which McFarlin does not own.
Libraries Outside TU Other libraries in Oklahoma may be a good source of information and access to materials not available at TU.  If you find something you need at another Oklahoma library, McFarlin may be able to borrow for you through Interlibrary Loan, or you may travel in person to the library.
Off-Site Access McFarlin's vast and growing collection of online resources (databases, e-journals, e-books, etc.) is freely available off-campus to all current students, faculty and staff. You'll find more information here.
Online Forms The complete list of library forms, some of which may be submitted electronically (such as Interlibrary Loan), others need to be printed off and submitted in person.
Renew Books Your "My Library" account allows you to renew your books online, with the click of a mouse.  Learn more here.
Research Guides The McFarlin Instruction program is dedicated to providing assistance to students in doing scholarly research.  Here are some guides that will get you started with your research in lots of different subject areas.
Reserves Reserves is where many instructors place supplementary course readings or selected research materials for the use of students in their classes.
Special Collections The Department of Special Collections houses rare books, manuscripts, periodicals, photographs, works of art, and a variety of ephemeral material. It also maintains collections which for reasons of value or physical nature cannot be dispersed to the general stacks. Special Collections is recognized internationally for its quality and distinctiveness.
