Off-Site Access to Library Databases and Electronic Journals

Current students, faculty and staff of The University of Tulsa have full access to all the library's online products when not on the TU campus.  McFarlin uses a proxy server.  Using it you will be able to search all of the databases to which the library subscribes using any ISP (Internet Service Provider).

IMPORTANT! America Online and CompuServe users please click here for more information relating to those services.

You are no longer required to configure your browser before using the proxy server to access library resources.  Library databases and e-journals may be accessed from off-campus by simply clicking on the link.  However, in order for the proxy server to function correctly, this link must be somewhere on the library's website (www.lib.utulsa.edu) or catalog (library.utulsa.edu).  Bookmarking a database or e-journal in your browser may not work.

Clicking on a link will bring up the proxy server login screen.  In the box next to "Last Name:" type in your last name (without the quotation marks). Where it says "Current T.U. ID Card number", enter that. (Be sure to include the initial zero.) Then click on "SUBMIT".

If you should encounter any problems in using the proxy server or in accessing any of the library's databases or electronic journals, please feel free to contact Charles Brooks at 918-631-3793 or the McFarlin Library Reference Desk at 918-631-2880.

Please note the below image is only an example of what should appear when attempting to access databases and e-journals through the proxy server.
