Scope and Content:  Consist of Blair's manuscripts and correspondence and are organized into three series: Writings, Correspondence, and Military Records.

Series 1 consists of the photocopied typescript of Blain’s "Memoirs"; photocopied typescript of "Observations on Plants of Eastern Oklahoma.  An Informal Lecture" (1987); and a carbon copy typescript of "Susceptibility of the Spadefoot Toad and the Tree Frog to Ouabain, Cymarin, and Coumingine Hydrochloride," co-authored by Chester C. Hargreaves and K.K. Chen.  The writings are arranged alphabetically by title.

Series 2 includes 188 letters, post cards and notes from colleagues to Blair (and sometimes to Winnie, his wife) and date from 1940-1994; correspondents include Dr. James A. Gore (aquatic biologist, former Associate Professor, University of Tulsa Department of Biology, 1981-1990) and Dr. John A. Moore (zoologist, University of California at Riverside Department of Biology).  Letters by Gore written from South Africa in 1989 contain commentary on the political situation there at that time.  Included within the Moore correspondence are three photocopy autograph and 25 photocopy typescript letters from Blair to Moore.  The correspondence is arranged alphabetically by surname.

Series 3:  Military Records from Blair's service in the Army Air Forces (1943-1946) include his appointment papers and documents relating to his training at the School of Aviation Medicine; physical examination and immunization records; special orders; formal discharge documents; and certificates of appreciation for war service.  These records are arranged chronologically.

Miscellaneous items follow Series 3 and include press cuttings about Blair early in his career.

Administrative/Biographical History:  Dr. Albert Patrick Blair, a zoologist, was a member of the University of Tulsa Department of Biology, 1947-1979.
